This is an annual scholarship program organized by The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India, Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and WINStep Forward. The program named in honor of Dr. Har Gobind Khorana, who won the Nobel Prize in 1968 for his work at the interface of Chemistry and Biology. The program aims to enable Indian students to carry out research work at premier institutes in the US and develop a framework of collaboration between the scientific communities of the two countries.
There were 47 students selected for this scholarship across India and I was among the only 2 sophomores selected in 2019.
The scholarship enabled me to undertake a research project in the Integrated Mathematical Oncology Department of Moffitt Cancer & Research Institute, Tampa, Florida.
IMO, Moffitt was a great learning place and everyone there, gave me an opportunity to become one of them with a warm welcome.
